Our Winter Comp team for Round 6 - this Saturday

Round 6 in the winter cricket competition is being played this Saturday, and we’re celebrating the 50^th game of skipper Stephen Ward. 

Wardy has also played 13 Twenty20 games in the Moonee Valley colors, so he’s made quite an impact since he joined us at the start of the 2010/11 season.

 We also welcome back Kris Garland, who played First Eleven cricket for Moonee Valley in 2010/11 before returning home to England.

 He’s out here with a group of mates following the fortunes of the British & Irish Lions in the rugby – and will be playing summer cricket at Moonee Valley again in the upcoming season.

 The team for Saturday is: Amit Chaudhary, Jacob de Niese, Umar Farooq, Kris Garland, Kern Kapoor, David Leece, Muhammad Maaz, Jesse Nankivell-Sandor, Ben Thomas, Matt Thomas, Stephen Ward (capt). 12^th man: Saeed Akram.

 We're taking on North Brunswick/Rosebank at Allard Park in Donald St, East Brunswick (Melways 30A5), with the usual midday start.

 North Brunswick/Rosebank has only won one game so far this season, so it's a good opportunity for us to get back on the board with some points.
