A REVERSAL OF FORTUNES FOR TOM J

The Ormond Park pavilion was packed out for our Reverse Raffle night, which was a roaring success. We sold all of the 400 tickets for the event, and the major prize was won by Tom Janetzki. Above: Our raffle winner Tom Janetzki (centre) with Jack Newman (left) and Brayden McGregor. Our thanks go to the organisers of the Reverse Raffle - one of our major fundraisers for the year - particularly Jack Newman, Brayden McGregor and Ian Denny. Thanks also to the outside support we received for our event, including the group from the Maribyrnong Park St Marys Cricket Club, and the crew of Western Australian visitors across for a week with our curator Matt Philpott. Thanks also to the support from member of the Moonee Valley Bowls Club. We also appreciate the last-minute inclusion of Michael Bourke from Memorabilia Magic, who turned up with framed photos and other memorabilia from the football, cricket and horse-racing world for our November 29 event. Michael was an absolute hoot with his auctioning routine, and had the crowd in stitches as he worked around the room. The auction result was also a valuable boost to our takings on the night. We all had fun when Michael identified Dom Gibaldi as the sole North Melbourne supporters in attendance. He must have felt sorry for the long-suffering Dom, and donated to him the only piece of Kangaroos memorabilia - a frame photo of Glenn Archer. Our thanks also go to our sponsors Dorr Paper & Food Supplies and to Frankie's Pizza for looking after us with the excellent food on the night. Thanks also to our volunteers in the kitchen and bar who kept us well provisioned - with special thanks particularly to Sarah Fenn, Adele Walker, Paul Simon, Paul Sevenson and Allan Cumming. ***For more photos from the event click HERE
