Seniors pre-season training - starts August 3
by
Welcome to the upcoming 2005/06 season, one I believe to be promising, exciting, but one of further change for the Moonee Valley Cricket Club.
As coach of the cricket club, whilst I identify the basic and most common component of training is net practice, I will continue to provide a wide variety of activities that are an important supplement to batting and bowling skills practice.
Practice will no longer consist of players simply rolling up for a bat, for a bowl and a chat as these sessions are not for clubs who want to succeed. Two notable sayings that I preach are practice doesnt make perfect, quality practice makes perfect and if you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail.
I am pleased to announce that Mark Gauci will continue as the clubs Chairman of Selector. Mark will again be invaluable to myself in his current playing role and will be able to provide important background information as to the current playing list at the club.
I look forward to what will be the biggest challenge in my coaching career and would like to wish everyone all the very best for the upcoming season.
