Our MVP and Fieldlow winners

Moonee Valley Cricket Club’s MVP night at the Laurel Hotel on March 13 was a big success.

About three dozen players, plus partners, were in the upstairs function room of the Laurel – one of our key sponsors – to hear the vote count in both the Most Valuable Player awards and the Fieldlow fielding awards.

The winners were:

 First Eleven:

MVP – joint winners Chanaka Silva and Nadeera Thuppahi 12 votes; runner-up Troy Eden 8 votes.

Fieldlow – winner Anthony Riggio 13 votes; second Daniel Comande 6 votes; third Channa DeSilva, Jack Newman 5 votes.

 

Second Eleven:

MVP – winner Mark Gauci 17 votes; runners-up Jim Polonidis, Dean Jukic 15 votes.

Fieldlow – winner Liam Moloney 12 votes; runner-up Sean O’Kane 6 votes.

 

Third Eleven:

MVP – winner Mark Gauci 26 votes; second Peter O’Kane 22 votes; third Brett Curran 10 votes.

Fieldlow – winner Paul Hobbs 15 votes; runners-up Sean O’Kane, Maurice Virduzzo 6 votes.

 

Fourth Eleven:

MVP – winner Matthew Esmore 35 votes; second Mick Bannister, Jesse Felle 27 votes; fourth Mark Gauci 23 votes.

Fieldlow – winner Peter Golding 28 votes; second Mick Bannister 20 votes; third Matthew Esmore 9 votes.

 

Fifth Eleven:

MVP – winner Danny Terzini 22 votes; second Peter Smith 17 votes; third Neil King 16 votes.

Fieldlow – winner Shaun Rayment 10 votes; second Peter Smith 9 votes; third Allan Cumming 7 votes.

 

Sixth Eleven:

MVP – winner Shane Chalmers 30 votes; second Liam Farrell 28 votes; third Paddy Shelton 22 votes; fourth Liam Shaw 21 votes.

Fieldlow: winner Grahame McCulloch 9 votes; second Liam Shaw, Shane Chalmers 8 votes; fourth Alex Steinmeyer 7 votes.
