Jack and Nick are in the rep team

Moonee Valley players Nick Brelis (left) and Jack Newman (right) have been selected in the Mercantile Cricket Association Under 21 rep team.

They're in action this Sunday, November 15 in a Wright Shield game against Ringwood District Cricket Association. The Wright Shield is a metro-wide competition of Melbourne's best Under 21 cricketers.

It's a strong representation for Moonee Valley in this comp, and follows on from Nick's selection the previous season.

Sunday's game starts at 11am at Brighton Beach Oval, end of South Rd, Brighton  (Melway 76 D3). It is 40-overs-a-side, and will finish roughly 5pm.

Players need to be there by 10am for presentation of caps and shirts to the new U21 representatives, and for the warm-up.

The next game in the comp is on Sunday November 22.

All players selected in the team are also invited to represent Mercantile at the annual Mildura Willowfest tournament, being held on December 27-30 this year.
