Dan's the Man when the chips are down
Moonee Valley Life Member Dan Terzini held his nerve when the big plays were needed and took out the main prize at our poker night on February 7.
Dan, captain of the Valley Fifths, beat teammate Peter Whebell - a past winner of our annual tournament - when it got down to the final two hands.
They were the last men standing after Moonee Valley Football Club stalwart and one-game cricketer Tony Gray was eliminated.
Our thanks again to "Riverboat Joe" Ansaldo for his excellent work in organising and running the night - a major fundraiser for our Club. And thanks also to Bob Sciacchitano for his work assisting Joe, Simon Thornton and the crew who ran the bar and our other people who helped to make it a successful and profitable night.
Riverboat and Bob even passed on playing in the Sevenths so that they could concentrate on the job of organising and setting up for the night. So they passed on a victory, as the Sevenths got a good win over Coburg on the Ormond East oval.
