Senior Presentation - The Stars came out for our big night
The stars were out in force when we held our Moonee Valley Cricket Club senior presentation night at the North Suburban Club on Saturday, April 17.
More than 110 players, partners and supporters were in attendance - and most attention on the night was on the announcement and presentation of our prestigious Lindsay Jones Best Clubman Award. There was also a buzz through the room when it was revealed that an unannounced Life Membership was to be awarded.
The Lindsay Jones Trophy was won by Tony Sherer (pictured above left).
Our new Life Member was the great Jim Polonidis, shown here above right with partner Tien Ha.

Comp bowling win for Under 12 star
Under 12 up-and-comer Charles Aitken has won the North West Cricket Association's bowling award in Under 12 D.
The ever-reliable Charles also came close to winning the comp's batting award at the same time - underlining what a top season he had in Darren Nagle's Under 12 Gold Premiership-winning outfit.
Charles has been at Moonee Valley since 2006, playing as part of a stable and united squad which has worked its way through from Under 10s under super-coach Spud Nagle.
Older brother Tom is a regular in our one-day teams and our matting two-day teams, while dad Ross has also played seven games over the years.
Charles took 15 wickets during the season at the miserly average of 8.27.
To prove he could also cut it when the stakes were high, he returned figures of 0/2, 1/3 and 0/2 in the three finals.
*****Charles is shown here with his trophy, along with dad Ross (left), the Under 12 Gold team
manager/assistant coach and his Premiership coach Darren "Spud" Nagle.
