|Senior Presentation Night - Saturday, April 17: Book your spot now!!!|
We will be in new territory with our Senior Presentation Night at the North Suburban Club on Saturday, April 17 - the first time we've held a presentation night while we celebrate TWO senior premierships.
The North Suburban Club - one of our major sponsors - is at 622 Mount Alexander Rd, Moonee Ponds, and the night starts at 6.30pm.
Price is $50 per head, or $40 for juniors, with drinks at bar prices. The price includes an excellent buffet dinner - and anyone who attended last year's presentation will attest to what a great meal it was.
The night is for ALL senior players, plus junior parents and supporters - and we need to remember than many of our juniors are already accomplished senior players and player regularly in the higher ranks.
Announcements and presentations include the Club Champion Award, MVCC Award, Lindsay Jones Best Clubman Award, and batting, bowling and fielding awards for each of our senior teams.
There will also be significant milestone awards, and presentations of trophies which were not done at our MVP night.
Captains will be contacting players over the next few days. You can either confirm details with the captain, or contact Charlie Walker direct on firstname.lastname@example.org or 0409 237 543.
Please help us by booking early. Players, parents and supporters wanting to confirm their booking asap. When booking, please advise whether you are bringing your partner.
We need everyone to RSVP by Monday, April 12.
See you there!

Comp bowling win for Under 12 star
Under 12 up-and-comer Charles Aitken has won the North West Cricket Association's bowling award in Under 12 D.
The ever-reliable Charles also came close to winning the comp's batting award at the same time - underlining what a top season he had in Darren Nagle's Under 12 Gold Premiership-winning outfit.
Charles has been at Moonee Valley since 2006, playing as part of a stable and united squad which has worked its way through from Under 10s under super-coach Spud Nagle.
Older brother Tom is a regular in our one-day teams and our matting two-day teams, while dad Ross has also played seven games over the years.
Charles took 15 wickets during the season at the miserly average of 8.27.
To prove he could also cut it when the stakes were high, he returned figures of 0/2, 1/3 and 0/2 in the three finals.
*****Charles is shown here with his trophy, along with dad Ross (left), the Under 12 Gold team
manager/assistant coach and his Premiership coach Darren "Spud" Nagle.

Forthcoming dates to watch:
Saturday, April 17 - our big Presentation Night at the North Suburban Club. You know it's a great night, so put it down in the diary now!
Sixths - take a bow!
Our Sixth Eleven set itself a target for 2009/10 of getting some valuable experience into a group of younger players. We built a core around a couple of senior players in Ryan Fairclough, Phill King and Simon Payton and some emerging talent in Jesse Nankivell-Sandor.
The rest of the team comprised young players and those in the mix from other grades.
Playing in Moreland Moonee Valley C Mats, it was hard, it was tough and it all came together in the last round of the season.
We set St Francis a challenging target of 206, based on some excellent batting from Ian Denny (76), Peter Bonfa (28) and Peter Legato (20).
We then bowled them out for 175, with the pick of the bowlers being Ian Denny (4/34) and James Thorneycroft (2/50).
Well done to the Sixths!
The victorious Sixths: L-R: Back - Beau Velona, Ryan Fairclough, James Thorneycroft, John Brelis, Ian Denny, Jesse Nankivell-Sandor. Front - Peter Legato, Bob Sciacchitano, Phill King, Peter Bonfa and Ben Brelis.
