VTCA appeal
by
In response to a number of queries from senior players, the Moonee Valley Cricket Club Committee advises that our appeal to the Victorian Turf Cricket Association over a loss of points for the Round 5 fixture v Hoppers Crossing was dismissed.
Our Committee was extremely disappointed at the decision by the VTCA Executive, and also that we were not advised by the VTCA for several weeks after it made its decision.
Given that the VTCA rules and bylaws require any further appeal to be lodged within 72 hours of a decision, this non-advice removed any opportunity we had of taking this matter further. We have been significantly disadvantaged by actions and omissions for which the VTCA has accepted full responsibility.
Our Club still believes we are entitled to extra points for both our Firsts and our Seconds as a result of this error by the VTCA, and will be extremely disappointed if it affects our ladder position or chances of playing finals at the end of the season.
In response to requests from senior players seeking information on how we went about our appeal, the appeal document is attached here.
