Moonee Valley Under 14 Jacinta de Niese was picked for state selection in the Victorian Primary Schools U13s Cricket Team.

The team played against the other states and territories for the National Championship at Cobram-Barooga from Jan 5 to 13.

After winning the North West Cricket Association's best fielder for the District last season, Jacinta was invited with more than 60 other girls for trials earlier this year. After seven sessions, including a session at the hallowed MCG, Jacinta won her Baggy Blue and is as proud as punch.

We ran a Twenty20 match at Ormond Park on Friday, December 14 between our Women's Team and Our Under 14 Girls - plus a few ring-ins - to raise money to help fund Jacinta's trip and expenses.

With some generosity from some parents and supporters on top of the fundraising, Moonee Valley put together $1170 to help Jacinta on her way. Well done Valleys!
