Two big wins to our Girls!

Double Delight for our Valley Girls
Moonee Valley's two women's teams did us proud on the November 7/8 weekend when they both chalked up impressive wins - the first time since we started our women's program that both teams have won in the same round.
The two women's teams were among eight Moonee Valley wins on the November 7/8 weekend, including outrights for the Firsts and Seconds.
Our Women's Black team ventured out to Campbellfield where they got the home team out for 54, then passed them in just 11 overs for the loss of only one wicket.
Our White team played at home at Ormond Park against the previously-unbeaten Coburg. We restricted them to 7/114, then passed them three wickets down after 26 overs on the back of an impressive 71no from skipper Sam Marr.
Coach Tony Sherer (right) praised the girls for their perseverance as we built up our squads, and was confident the wins were a preview of things to come.
"I was very proud of the way the players have stuck to their task, and these two wins are testament to that determination," Tony said.
"There has been steady improvement this year right across the playing group."
Club President Charlie Walker said the whole Club was proud of the achievement in the players winning both games.
"Congratulations to Tony for his coaching and his unswerving commitment to how important women's cricket is to the Moonee Valley Cricket Club," Charlie said.
"Congratulations to the girls who played in the wins, to the team managers and officials who made it all happen, and to the girls who were not available for the match but are an integral part of what we're striving for.
"I'm sure the other women's clubs will also take note that we've got a couple of very strong results on the board."
