Support for our friends at Prince of Wales

Our support and best wishes go to Tony Sherer and his family from the Prince of Wales Hotel in Ascot Vale, which was badly damaged by fire in the early hours of December 19.

Tony is a popular player mainly in our Fourth Eleven and is coach of our womens teams. Tony and the Prince of Wales are major sponsors of Moonee Valley Cricket Club, and our best wishes as with him as he works to get the business back on its feet.

Tony had also found employment for young players Josh Maginness and John O'Brien, so the fire has also impacted on them.

Given the fact that the fire happened in the early hours on the morning of our Christmas Party, it was a big effort for Tony to turn up later that night - and to play with the Fourths the next day.
