Seeking a new Junior Co-ordinator

by

Call for expressions of interest for MVCC Junior Co-ordinator role

The Moonee Valley Cricket Club is seeking a player, parent or other interested person to put up their hand for the role of Junior Co-ordinator for season 2011/12.
Kevin Gardiner, who has done a wonderful job for the past three seasons, is stepping aside from the role due to other commitments, although he plans to continue with junior coaching and will be available for mentoring and advice for the new appointment.
Our Life Member and Past President Darren "Spud" Nagle, who has been a junior coach and age group co-ordinator for the past three seasons, is also happy to provide a great deal of assistance and the benefit of his experience, but is not in a position to take on the job of Junior Co-ordinator.
The MVCC Committee will restructure the Junior Co-ordinator position so that more responsibility is taken by the age group co-ordinators, which means that the Junior Co-ordinator, assisted by the Junior Treasurer, has more of an oversight role and a role in setting direction for the age groups.
There will be a lot of support for the Junior Co-ordinator, because as well as Kevin with his recent experience, Darren was President when juniors were established in 1996 and saw through the development of the program. I was also Junior Co-ordinator for the seven years before Kevin, and am still involved with juniors and able to assist.
The Junior Co-ordinator is a member of our MVCC committee and as such has a direct voice in the Club's decision making, ensuring that the requirements of our juniors are always uppermost in mind when any Club decisions are made.
So please give the role some thought and consider whether you are in a position to make a contribution to our Club and to our ongoing junior development by nominating for the Junior Co-ordinator position.
Anyone who wants more information or would like to sound out the details of the role in more detail can please phone me any time on 0409 237 543 or at home on 9370 1802.

Applicants will need to undergo a Working With Children check.

Many thanks,

Charlie Walker.
President, Moonee Valley Cricket Club.
