Racecourse redevelopment
by
Moonee Valley parent Carolyn Gorham gave a presentation to our Annual General Meeting on the concerns by resident group the Save Moonee Ponds action group.
Carolyn outlined the concerns over the density of the proposed mixed use redevelopment of part of the racecourse.
She outlined the impact on traffic, schools, local facilities and public transport, and advised that the main access point to and from the course would be Pattison St, Moonee Ponds.
This would have a potential detrimental impact on the Moonee Valley Cricket Club in terms of increased traffic and access.
Carolyn is well known to Moonee Valley Cricket Club, as sons Daniel and Alex have been players since 2005 and husband Rod has played several years in our one-day grades.
Carolyn advises that our members can become involved by sending an email to savemooneeponds@hotmail.com - which will then enable them to receive return emails - or go to the Facebook site Save Moonee Ponds.
