Our Arosha's a married man
by
A group of Moonee Valley Cricket Club players were on hand to help celebrate the happy occasion when our Arosha Perera got married in April.Arosha has been quietly courting his bride, Ishani since last year, and announced his pending wedding to his First Eleven team-mates as we approached the finals campaign.
They married at Black Rock on April 23, and will renew their vows in a traditional ceremony when they return to Sri Lanka later this year.
A spread of delicious, spicy Sri Lankan food was put on for the wedding and the meal was enjoyed by all - even Darren Nagle, who perspired profusely at the taste of the hot spices.
Photographed here are L-R: Bob Sciacchitano, Mark Cini, Geoff Smith, Arosha and Ishani (with Darren Nagle between them), Kevin Gardiner, Nick Puccio, Charlie Walker and Sam Smith.
Moonee Valley player Greg "Storm" Sorenson was the official wedding photographer.
Arosha's agent, Sammy Kandage was one of the key guests, while Frank Hutchinson from the Don Kyatt Spare Parts group of companies, who has been instrumental in working with Moonee Valley to keep Arosha in Australia over the past four years, was a special guest.
From all of us at the Club - Arosha and Ishani, best of luck and a wonderful life!
