Moonee Valley players make junior squads
by
Sixteen Moonee Valley players have been selected to try out for the Region 10 development squads - which demonstrates the success of the Club's junior program.
Club President Charlie Walker said the Club had rep players in each age group, reflecting the strength of Moonee Valley in recent seasons - which have seen us win five junior Premierships in the past two years.
Cricket Victoria's Region 10 will run a coaching and training program for the U13 and U15 players in the first week of September school holidays. The U17 program will be conducted in the second week.
Players selected in U13, U15 and U17 Region 10 Development Squads will be considered for selection in Regional U14, U16 and U18 teams based on performance during the coaching and training program, and potential to make final squad of 13.
Trial matches for Regional U14, U16 and U18 teams will commence on Sunday 5 October. Trials will continue during October, with the final squad of 13 plus 3 emergencies to be announced on Monday 26th October.
Players selected to represent the Region must be available to attend all training and practice matches throughout November and December to ensure they are fully prepared for the CBA Pathway Championships in January 2009.
An information letter will be sent from Cricket Victoria in late July to all players selected in Region 10 Development Squads and Trial Squads.
Moonee Valley Cricket Club is very proud of our selected players - and our whole junior program - and passes on their congratulations.
