Jesse Felle snares 11 wickets

by

Congratulations to Jesse Felle for his 11 wickets in the Sevenths in the big win over Pascoe Vale Central.

Playing at Pascoe Vale's home ground on Day 1 on December 16, Jesse quickly had the opposition in trouble, routing them with 5/17 as they went all-out for 56.

Captain Dan Terzini declared after we raced to 6/121 after just 22 overs, and Jesse had another four wickets at the end of Day 1.

Pascoe Vale limped to 98 for the loss of nine wickets - all out - on Day 2, with Jesse finishing the innings with 6/38. He was denied the chance of taking 12 wickets by Pascoe Vale turning up one player short.

Moonee Valley's bats knocked off the required 39 runs in seven overs to take outright points.

Jesse's 11-wicket haul is the first time since Brett Fletcher in 1999/2000 that a Moonee Valley bowler has taken 10 or more wickets in a match.

Jesse is behind only Brian Hallett, who took 12 wickets in a Thirds match in 1983/84, and is equal with Jim McKenzie, with 11 wickets in 1993/94 and the great Colin Netherclift, with 11 in 1971/72.

Jesse has been with Moonee Valley since juniors, and is nearing 100 senior games.
