Four Valley teams in junior grand finals

Four Moonee Valley junior teams are competing in grand finals this weekend – more teams than for any other club in the North West Cricket Association.

All three of our Under 12 teams won their semi finals last weekend to advance to the big day, while one of our three Under 14 teams which made the finals got through the semi.

Moonee Valley is continuing to set the pace in the juniors. The previous weekend we had the most teams of any club playing in the semi-finals – six teams. And when you count our U14 Girls semi final the previous weekend, that gave us seven teams going through to the semis.

When you consider that the NWCA has 35 teams with juniors, and there are 21 Grand Finals this weekend, our strike rate of having four teams competing is outstanding.

Our Under 14 game is a two-day match, being played on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Our Under 12 games are Saturday matches.

All games start at 8.20am, and we encourage parents and supporters to come along and watch.

The match details are:

Under 14 Gold: F Grade (coach Steve Malone) Moonee Valley v St Andrews at Poplar Oval, The Avenue, Parkville. Melways Map 29, F11.

Under 12 Black: B Grade (coach Glenn Perussich) CMoonee Valley v Roxburgh Park at Buckley Park West, Cooper St, Essendon. Melways Map 28 B1.
