DOUBLE HAT-TRICK FOR VALLEY BOY
Young Moonee Valley cricketer Matthew Cameron didnt get much of a bowl in the rain-shortened Under 14s match against Roxburgh Park.
After he took a wicket with his second ball, he then ripped through the rest of the team with a double hat-trick.
He took further wickets with his fourth, fifth and sixth balls of his first over, then completed the rare feat with the first ball of his second over to wrap up the innings and finish with the remarkable figures of 1.1 overs, 1 maiden and 5/0.
The combined Moonee Valley-Brunswick team was defending a modest 4/64 off 20 overs in the November 13 game, and Roxburgh Park seemed to be cruising at 4/52 in its chase before Matthew stepped in and won the match off seven balls.
In his first season in Under 14s after playing for Moonee Valley Cricket Club for four years, Matthew is also more than handy with the bat.
