Condolences to the Cosgriff family

Moonee Valley Cricket Club offers its condolences to the family of Damien Cosgriff, who died suddenly last week.

Damien, who had a long and distinguished cricket career in the Jika Cricket Association, played three one-day games with MVCC in 2003/04 before deciding that he was more suited to bowls due to soft-tissue injuries.

Damien then joined Moonee Valley Bowls Club.

He was an active junior parent at Moonee Valley Cricket Club as son Tom progressed through our age groups. Tom played 29 games from 2000 to 2003.

In honor of Damien’s cricket career, the Jika Cricket Association named one of its one-day grades the Damien Cosgriff Shield in recognition of his long career at Northcote United CC and as an association board member and legal representative.

Following a merger and the formation of the North Metro Cricket Association, the veteran’s grade became the Damien Cosgriff Shield.
