All turf games called off this weekend

The Victorian Turf Cricket Association and the Moreland Moonee Valley Cricket Association have called off all turf games for this weekend due to the weather.

Clubs did not have an opportunity to prepare wickets due to the rain on Wednesday, Thursday and into Friday morning, and so the VTCA and MMVCA had no option but to make a call.

Our Women's team, which was to play Essendon Maribyrnong Park on turf on Sunday, has also been cancelled.

However, Moonee Valley still has four teams going around this weekend - all on Saturday - so players and supporters are urged to go along and support them.

Danny Terzini's Sixths are only five runs away from a first innings victory at Ormond Park. The Fourths are playing at Bradford Ave. Reserve in Greenvale in what is Kevin Gardiner's 150th club game.

The Sevenths are playing up at Parker Reserve in North Coburg, while the Eighths have a star-studded line-up playing at home down at Debney Park.
