Riverboat Joe's poker night - Saturday, February 9
Life Member Joe Ansaldo has organised a Texas Hold'Em Poker Night at our cricket club pavilion for Saturday, February 9, and we urge all members to round up their friends and attend.
The proceeds for the night will go towards paying for the new bowling machine which we have been trialling for a couple of months - so we've all got an incentive to attend.
The $35 entry fee gets you $3000 worth of chips, and there are several opportunities to buy back in during the night.
It also gets a range of finger food distributed throughout the evening. Drinks will be readily available from Spud's 300 Bar or from the canteen at standard prices.
We're in the process of finalising the level of the cash prizes. Anyone who's attended our poker nights in past seasons knows the effort Joe puts in to make them enjoyable and successful events - so we're keen for members to bring a friend or two and fill out the place.
Registration time is between 7.30 and 8pm, or you can pay Joe in advance - if you're down the club, he'll be seeking you out on training and selection nights.
Help with Joe's catering by ringing him on 0404 878 264.
Appy to go - Moonee Valley's new smartphone app is now up and running
Moonee Valley's members and supporters can now get their own free smartphone app, to keep in touch with everything that's happening around our Club.
The app, designed and built by Brendan Wright - brother of Fourths stalwart Norm - can be downloaded free through either the Apple Store or the Android Play Store. Simply go into the store and search for "Moonee Valley" and you'll find it.
Brendan's company, website and app developer CommunityToGo has scored some major contracts with their apps, so Moonee Valley Cricket Club is grateful and honored that the company has developed and launched our app.
Smartphone users can check all the Club information - they're notified when something new comes up on the website or our Facebook page, and will be able to instantly look and see whenever we update scores on game day via our Twitter account.
Our members can check every upcoming game on the fixture and get GPS directions to every ground our teams play on - seniors or juniors.
Already more than three dozen of our members have downloaded the app. All members should download and use it - and make sure you let players and supporters of opposing clubs know what a great app we have - and that it's courtesy of Brendan Wright and CommunityToGo.
